What’s not to love about a cheesy homemade biscuit that’s paired with crispy bacon?! It s hard to not eat more than one, so you may want to double this recipe. 🙂
Cornmeal Cheddar Biscuit Slidders
1 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour
1/2 Cup Yellow Cornmeal
3 teaspoons Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Cracked Black Pepper
1/8 teaspoon Onion Powder
1/2 Cup Butter, cold diced
3/4 Cup cheddar Cheese, grated
1 Cup Whole Milk
2 lbs. Bacon, cooked crisp
Preheat oven to 450
Combine in a mixing bowl all the dry ingredients. Cut in butter, until mixture is crumbly. Add in cheese and milk. DO NOT over mix, stir until just combine. Drop by a large spoonful onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Let biscuits cool before slicing them in half. * Some like to add butter, we like to spread on some mayo. Add your crispy bacon and enjoy!
