This time of the year there is a lot of family reunions going on. Here in the “Country” that means oiling up those cast iron skillets, for a backyard cook off! In my book nothing beats the taste of dutch oven cooking . You can always count on a crisp “crust” on just about anything you cook….from chicken to cookies.
Now if y’all aren’t planning on cooking over coals anytime soon, you can still have these delicious skillet cookie!
Peanut Butter Toffee Skillet Cookie
1 (17.9 oz) Peanut Butter Cookie Mix (I used Betty Crocker)
1 Cup Toffee Pieces, divided
1 (12 oz.) Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
Place your skillet in the oven as you preheat it to 375 degree’s.
In a mixing bowl prepare the cookie mix as directed on the package, stir in 1/2 cup of the toffee pieces.
Carefully spread cookie dough evenly in the hot skillet. Bake for 20-22 minutes. After cookie has baked, remove from oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips over top. Let sit for 5 minutes, they should be melted enough so you can spread over the entire cookie with a knife. Next sprinkle the toffee pieces over top. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
How simple is that? Now its time to dive on in!
