Hallelujah it’s September! Now if Mother Nature would just remember that. 😉
I look forward to the cool, crisp days of Fall…… and one of my favorite flavors of Fall is MAPLE! If you ask me there is nothing as delicious as warm maple syrup served over crepes, waffles or pancakes in the morning.
Homemade Maple Syrup
3 Cups Sugar
2 Cup Dark Brown Sugar
4 Tablespoons Dark Corn Syrup
2 Cups Water
2 teaspoons Maple Flavoring
1 teaspoon Vanilla
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Stirring continuously, to dissolve sugar. Bring to a full boil for 1 minute. Then reduce heat to a low simmer for 10 minutes. This syrup can keep in the fridge for up to 1 month. Store in a sealed jar.
Here is to hoping we all can enjoy some of this comforting warm homemade maple syrup on a cool crisp morning in the near future! ~ Lark
