I’ve said many times before that cooking and baking are a stress reliever for me. There is just something about figuring out the correct ratio of ingredients, mixing them together to create a new dish that I find comfort in. When I am my kitchen I feel as if I am creating something special for the ones I love most. And that is priceless!
These past few months I just haven’t found the time to get in the kitchen and create something new. (With the 100 plus degree temperature’s I didn’t want to turn on the oven.) I have missed baking so much, that I finally decided that I would relax by making a new dessert recipe this past week. ~of course I waited until late evening to turn on the oven. My family is a Peanut Butter loving family! This recipe has just the right combination of crunch of toffee with the creamy flavor of peanut butter.
You are sure to get a taste of toffee and peanut butter in every bite!
Peanut Butter Toffee Crunch Cake
1 (18.1/4 oz) Butter Pecan Cake Mix
1 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Cup Water
1/4 Cup Oil
1 1/2 Cups Peanut Butter Chips, divided
1 Cup Toffee pieces
1/2 Cup Peanuts, chopped
Preheat oven to 350
In a mixing bowl combine the dry cake mix, peanut butter and brown sugar. Mix well until crumbles. Set aside 1/2 cup of mixture. Then add water, oil, and 1/2 cup of peanut butter chips to the mixing bowl. mix until smooth. Pour into a 9×13″ pan that has been lightly greased. Sprinkle remaining peanut butter chips, toffee and peanuts over top. Bake for 35-45 minutes. Allow cake to cool completely before cutting.
This is a fabulous cake to take for pot lucks, bbq’s or even a picnic!
