This is one of my husbands favorite meals. As you can tell he is the “meat & potatoes” kind of guy! This stack has it all… Creamy potatoes, buttery corn, a flavorful juicy beef patty, topped with brown gravy and sauteed onions. What more could you want?
Salisbury Steak Stack
1 1/2-2 lbs. Lean Ground Beef
1/2 Cup Bread crumbs
1 Egg, beaten
1 Envelope Onion Soup Mix
1/4 Cup Water
1/2 tsp. Pepper
1 Large White Onion, cut into petals
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
1 Envelope Brown Gravy
1 Cup Fresh Steamed Corn, with butter if desired.
2 Cups Mashed Potatoes
Start by mixing the beef, bread crumbs, egg, onion soup mix, water and pepper together. Shape into 4-6 patties (depending on how big you want the patties to be) Pan fry patties in a skillet until cooked through. Make gravy packet according to package directions, then pour over the top of the patties. Set the patties back on the stove over low heat while you saute the onion and olive oil. Then onions are cooked, all you need to do is assemble the stack. Start layering with potatoes, corn, gravy, steak, gravy and onions. NOW DIVE IN!
