These molten cakes received their name after I served them to my family and saw chocolate all over their face as they licked their plates clean. 🙂 They are so divine you wont want to waste even a drop of the filling. Warning: though they appear to be small, they are RICH!
Chocolate Messy Cakes
1/2 Cup Butter
1/4 Cup Sugar
1 (2 oz.) Bittersweet Chocolate Baking Bar
1 (2 oz.) Semi Sweet Chocolate Baking Bar
1 1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
3 Egg Yolks
2 Whole Eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1/8 teaspoon Salt
1 1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
Preheat oven to 425 degrees
In a medium sauce pan over med./low heat melt together, butter, white sugar and the baking bars. Stirring constantly until smooth and remove from heat. In a separate bowl whisk together powdered sugar, eggs, yolks, vanilla, salt and flour until smooth. Pour the melted chocolate into this batter, stir until combined well. Divide batter evenly between 6 ramekins that have been generously greased. Place onto a baking sheet to bake for 15 minutes. As soon as the cakes come out of the oven invert each onto a serving plate. Serve these warm. We like to pair it with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream. ~Sinfully Sweet, Lark

These look absolutely delicious. Can I ask though, is a baking bar just cooking chocolate? I’m in Australia and we don’t have anything called baking bars here 🙁
