This is one recipe my Mother passed down that I have not tried to “update” or “remake” in any way. I mean if it isn’t broken, why try to fix it? These cookies are simple to make and seem to be a big hit with kids of all ages.
Homemade “Oreo” Cookies
~Cookies
3 (15.25 oz.) Chocolate Cake Mix’s
6 Egg’s
1 Cup Vegetable Oil
~ Filling
2 (8 oz.) Cream Cheese, softened
1 (7 oz.) Marshmallow Fluff/Cream
4-6 Cups Powdered Sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degree’s
Mix the cake mix, eggs and oil together to make a soft dough. Roll into 1 inch balls, place onto a parchment lined baking sheet that has been lightly greased. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Let cookies cool completely before filling. While cookies are cooling, you can make your filling. In a mixing bowl beat the cream cheese ans marshmallow fluff together until smooth. Add in powdered sugar and vanilla. I like to chill the filling for 10 minutes before spreading it on the cookies. *You can make these cookies for any holiday by rolling the edges into decorative sprinkles. Store cookies in an air tight container.~ Happy Baking, Lark
