When I started the Lark’s Country Heart Blog I never would have guessed the many places it would allow me. to visit. Or all of the opportunities it has given me and my family. I LOVE being a Blogger! I just wished I would have figured it all out a whole lot sooner. (lol)
As a Blogger, I know just how important social media is. It really connects you with your readers, fellow bloggers, brands, company’s and of course family & friends. You never know just how influential it can be. That being said, is how I came to be sitting in a friends kitchen clear across the Country typing up a post to share with you all. I meet Jyl through Face Book. She is a fellow blogger & reader of mine, who reached out to me one day. Needless to say we became fast friends. Jyl is wonderful! Very giving of her time, is willing to help you with anything, Goes out of her way to call or text you just to say hi. I am very honored to call her a close friend! Seeing how she lives in the South and I am in Nevada I knew it wasn’t very likely that we would ever meet in person.
Well wishes can come true….. 6 months ago I called Jyl telling her I was going to be able to come for a short visit. Things just “snowballed” from there. I think Jyl and I talked or texted everyday planning things to do and see on my trip out South. As the list grew longer and longer I just knew we wouldn’t be able to do it all in the short amount of time I could afford to stay. So of course Jyl being Jyl let me know I was more than welcome to stay as long as I wanted. So plans were made, that I would come for a 2 week visit to the South. I thought this day would never come. The anticipation was overwhelming. You see I have never been to the South before. (This is where Jyl would add a “Bless your heart” comment…) All I knew for certain was that it was going to be humid.
The very first night I was here I already knew what I wanted to do…..See and Catch Lightening Bugs! Nevada does not have lightening bugs, and I have always wondered if they really do look like the fake ones they have in Disneyland. And guess what? THEY DO!
They are a lot bigger than I thought they would be. They are so neat to watch as the sky turns dark, it makes you feel as if you are in the set of a Disney Movie watching them twinkle in the night sky. I have sat outside on the porch every night. And I am sure I will continue to do so for the remainder of my stay. ~ I am LOVING my Southern Adventure, Lark
