This tastes as good as it looks….. Light, moist layers of mocha flavored cake topped with the best egg-less chocolate chip cookie dough filling I have ever tasted. Y’all are going to LOVE it!
Mocha Chocolate Torte with Cookie Dough Filling
Cake~
1 Box Chocolate Cake Mix
2 Eggs
1 1/4 Cup Water
1/3 Cup Oil
1/2 Cup Sour Cream
1 tsp. Mocha Extract
Cookie Dough Filling~
1 Cup Butter
1 Cup Brown Sugar
3/4 Cup Sugar
2 tsp. Vanilla
2 Cup All Purpose Flour
1 tsp. Salt
1/2 Cup Milk
12 oz. Chocolate Chips
Preheat oven to 350
In a large mixing bowl combine all the ingredients for the cake batter. Beat on medium until smooth. Divide batter between (3) 8 inch square or round pans that have been light greased and lined with parchment paper. Cook for 18-22 minutes or until the center of each cake is cooked through. Remove cake from pans, removing parchment paper from the bottom. Let cool completely. **I like to place them into the freezer, this will help the cake from tearing when you spread on the filling. While cake is cooling you can mix together the cookie dough filling. In a mixing bowl cream together the butter, sugar’s and vanilla until light and fluffy about 4 minutes. Add in the flour and salt, mix on low speed. Slowly pour in milk. Mix to incorporate all ingredients together, then fold in chocolate chips. (Keep soft until the cake is ready to frost. If you place the filling into the fridge, you will want to allow it to come to room temperature before spreading it on the cake. Otherwise it will be to stiff.)
