Every so often I like to share a recipe that may not be difficult or even a highly researched recipe. Perhaps it is one I have been fixing for years and have just never gotten around to posting it. Or like in this case, I was asked to bring a snack to a get together that would feed quite a few however something that didn’t require an oven to keep warm. This Spinach Dip popped into my head instantly! It is a very simple recipe. You can double even triple it easily. I like to serve it along side some crisp pita chips, veggies and crackers. *If you are wanting to save on some calories, you can substitute fat free ingredients and it will taste amazing*
Creamy Spinach Dip
4 Cups Sour Cream
2 Cups Mayonnaise
1 Envelope (Dry) Lipton Onion Soup Mix
2 TBSP. Garlic~ minced
1 tsp. Pepper
1 (6oz.) Sliced Water Chestnuts~ drained/ diced
1 (16 oz.) Frozen Spinach~ thawed/very well drained
In a large bowl combine all the ingredients together. *Make sure that the spinach has been drained of any excess liquid. I like to chop the spinach up into smaller pieces, however you do what you like. After all ingredients are blended together, place into a covered bowl and chill for at least 1 hour. Right before serving give the mixture another quick stir.
This delicious dip is sure to keep those party invites coming 😉 ~ Lark
