Have you ever heard of a “Pantry Meal”?
If not, it is just basically that…anything put together to make a dish
by using items in your pantry. That is how I came up with this meal.
At my home chicken, rice, soup are items I ALWAYS have on hand.
This recipe is quick to put together. And if you don’t want to wait to make
it using your crock pot, you can always just throw it in the oven to bake.
I LOVE using my crock pot. So I am always making something that I
can have cooking through out the day as I do my “to do list”.
Also you can use Fat free product’s in this dish.
( I am so use to cooking with F.F. ingredients, I forget to mention
that when I give out a recipe.)
What you’ll need:
1 (8 oz.) Sour Cream
1 (10.5 oz) can of Cream of Chicken Soup
1/2 C. Milk or water
1 (8 oz. ) Cream Cheese
1/4 C. finely diced Onion
1 C. fresh sliced Mushroom’s
2 TBSP. Margarine
4 Skinless boneless Chicken Breast’s: cut into pieces
Salt & Pepper to taste
4 C. cooked Brown or White rice
In a mixing bowl place the cut up chicken, sour cream, soup and milk.
Place the diced onion, mushroom’s and margarine in a small pan and saute until tender.
When done add to the chicken mixture stir until all coated.
Pour into your crock pot. Cook on low for 4 hrs. or on high for 6 hrs.
The last 45 minutes of cooking add in the cream cheese, cut into small cubes.
If you want to bake in the oven, preheat to 350 and bake for 45 minutes.
Or until chicken is cooked through. Add in cream cheese that has been
cut into small cubes. Bake for another 10 minutes.
To serve, place the cooked rice onto a plate and then spoon over the chicken mixture.
*variation: you can also change out the rice for cooked pasta noodles*

I just came over from Gooseberry Patch.
This recipe looks so good. As a matter of fact, I’ve found several recipes I’d like to try!
I’ll be back to read more!

I’m assuming you mean to cook on low for 6 hrs or on high for 4 hrs in the crockpock??
Also, I was wondering if there is a way to print the recipe out without having all the other sidebar info on it?
Thanks!
